Spring Crafting

I guess the spring weather has put in the mood to "craft." I have made several cute things lately that I thought I would show off. First off I stole the idea for this super cute wreath from my friend Sara. She made one and I just had to have one as well. I had bought the grapevine wreath several years ago at a yard sale for $2 and it had just been sitting in the attic. I pulled it out and dusted it off. I just bought some cute silk flowers 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby along with some ribbon. My awesomely talented SIL Kelly helped me make the bow and I just hot glued the flowers on. So for around $10 I have an awesome spring and summer wreath. I was so happy with the way it turned out! So my "thing" for this year that I am going to learn is sewing. Now mind you I have never sewn a stitch in my life. I struggle to sew on buttons. So this was a stretch for me. Last Friday night some of my girlfriends were getting together to sew ruffle pants so I thought that I would give it a try. My awesome friend Hollie did an amazing job of teaching me the basics and Kim was a great support (poor Kim only has boys so she has no need to learn to make ruffle pants but she happily helped me!!). I have begun to learn the basics. And if I do say so my first project turned out pretty cute. Kate loved the pants this morning when she put them on for school!! She was prancing around and showing them off to her teachers. It was so cute. I don't know if the pants will fall apart in the wash but at least they are cute for this one wear!! I am looking forward to making another pair and also learning to make some basic dresses.
