A Pre Christmas Getaway

Last Thursday we had a wonderful outing with our friends Kevin and Paige.  We went up to Nashville with no kids!!  We have had it planned for a while and with all that has been going on we didn't know if we would be able to go but thankfully everything worked out.  We headed out Thursday afternoon.  We got settled into our hotel (it was wonderful) and then headed downtown.  We ate dinner at Demos restaurant.  Our waiter was hilarious and gave us the name KPEM.  Dinner was excellent!
After dinner we walked over to the Ryman Auditorium.  It has been on Matt's bucket list for years to see a show at the Ryman.  It was a beautiful old building.  The atmosphere was amazing. So much history in the building. Only problem was the super hard benches.
What made it even better was what we were seeing - Behold the Lamb of God!!!!  It is our favorite Christmas musical.  We have seen it for the past 7 years or so.  It is such a great picture of the story of Christ's redemption.  The show was beyond amazing. Such a great worship experience.
After the show we drove around looking for desert but everything was closed so we ended up buying break and bake cookies and ice cream and heading back to the hotel to enjoy.  It was fun!  We were proud of ourselves for staying up past midnight.  We headed back home on Friday morning.  It was a great quick getaway to really put us in the Christmas spirit.  Thankful for sweet friends to share it with.
