Halloween, Fire and Lemonade

These three random words sum up our weekend!  It was a great weekend.  Not too busy but full and fun!

First up the weekend was all about Halloween costume prep.  We are so excited about Halloween (yes we know it is over 2 months away).  Our costumes are going to be awesome this year.  I am enjoying a little more free time with both the kids in school so I had some time for crafting on Friday.  Can you tell what we are going to be?
I think this maybe one of the strangest things I have ever done...  I made a duct tape "cast" of Kate's leg.  It is for part of her costume that I needed to make.  I had to cover her leg in duct tape then cut it off and stuff it with grocery sacks.  It worked perfectly but it was so weird!
Friday night we met up with the Cabras for dinner at Ichiban!  It was so much fun.  The kids were funny and the guy who cooked our food was great!

Saturday morning we had a lemonade stand to raise money for Swim for Melissa.  We had a great spot in the Cabra's neighborhood and we had lots of people stop.  We made over $140 to donate.  AWESOME!!  As Ben told people - "thanks for saving babies lives."  I am so glad we have the opportunity to teach our children about giving to others.
Saturday night we had a get together with Matt's coworkers and then Sunday night we celebrate his mom's birthday (a little late - I did a bad job remembering the grandmother's birthdays last week on the blog - oops!)  It was a fun (albeit random) weekend!
