The fun continued on Saturday morning. Matt actually had to head off to Birmingham on Saturday for a test so it was just the kids and I along with my parents. We relaxed most of the day but also went on a couple of hikes. We also watched the pitiful Auburn game. Ok so maybe I slept through most of the game. I didn't miss much.
Kate was in total love with the owners little pug named Doodle. She was an older dog and so sweet with Kate. Kate followed her around. It was so sweet!
We had fun showing Granna and Grandaddy all the neat things we had found the day before and also exploring some new things. We all loved the hammock. Ben could have stayed in it the whole weekend I think.
A couple of the streams had logs over them that you could cross. That was Ben's favorite part of the whole weekend. He enjoyed crossing back and forth.
We played lots of games. One of our favorite things to do together!
It got really cold on Saturday night so we built a fire and roasted some marshmallows and made s'mores. I really do think that s'mores are one of my favorite foods. They are so yummy!!
Sunday morning we enjoyed some more hiking. It was really cool outside but great weather for being outside.
We headed into the town of Mentone. It is a cute little town with lots of arts shops. They also have some great places to eat. We had lunch at the Wildflower Cafe. It was great!
This is a picture of the High Horse Lodge. It was just wonderful. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay up in the mountains. It has everything you would ever need for a great getaway.
This is the amazing view out the porch. I could have just sat there all weekend.
What a great weekend it was. This pretty much sums it up... Yep lots of relaxing family time! We loved it!! Can't wait to go back.
