Alaska Trip Day 3 - Inside Passage & Day at Sea

So Alaska during the summer time means long days!! The sun goes down a little after 11:00 pm and is up again around 3:30 am. Not much dark. In fact I am not sure we ever saw it get dark while we were there. That meant some early mornings for us because the sun was up early. The kids did great and didn't wake up early. It was the adults that woke up early. Waking up early had its advantages though because you got to see some beautiful things. Day 3 we were cruising through the Inside Passage. It was just beautiful mountain views like nothing I had ever seen before!!

One of my favorite pictures...We even got to see our first "wildlife." There were some dolphins swimming along beside the boat. They were jumping with the wake so it was really neat to watch!
Love this pic of my sweet hubby and baby girl!
This was a "day at sea." We always enjoy our days at sea because they are low key. One of the things I love about cruising is that you can do as much or as little as you want. There are lots of activities or you can just sit and read a book. We did quite a few things during our day at sea!

One thing we didn't do is swim. These people were crazy!! It was about 60 degrees the whole time we were there. They had an indoor pool as well but we never made it to it. I sort of wish we had so I could say I swam in Alaska.
Ben and Matt playing an early morning game of chess!

The 21 days right before we got on the ship it had been in dry dock. That meant they had made lots of changes and upgrades to it. There were lots of new restaurants and amenities on board. One of the new things was a nursery for kids aged 6-36 months. It was awesome because it gave Kate a place to play. They had Fisher Price playgroups for her age. We also took advantage of being able to drop her off and have some free time! She had so much fun being able to play with toys just like at home.

We played some pool. Yes you can play pool on a cruise ship. The balls do sometime move on their own though.

Ben had a great time participating in the Adventure Ocean program. It is designed for kids just his age. They have both activity and playtime. He had so much fun!! They made chef hats on this day.

One of our favorite places on the ship was Cafe Lattetudes. You could get fun (free) snacks and sweets all day long!!

One of our favorite things to do is play trivia! Between the 6 adults we know a lot of different things and usually do pretty well. Our team came in 2nd overall on the progressive trivia challenge. We also placed 1st at a couple of the different rounds!Ben loved playing golf on the ship. It is fun to look out as you are putting and notice you are sailing through the ocean. This was the formal night so we all got dressed up in our finest wear!

Family picture!

Kelly and Andrew looking really good!

We enjoyed another very yummy dinner!! Some people complain about the food on a cruise but we just love it. It is always really good!
Ben stuffed from dinner with a milk mustache.
My really cute parents! After dinner we enjoyed another game of golf.
Then headed to the family dance party with DJ George. They played fun music and we all had a great time dancing!

Our towel animal greeted us after we got back to the room from a fun day!
We had a great time on ship but we were ready to see Alaska!!!
