Verona Italy

A couple of nights ago Matt and I were watching the movie Letters to Juliet. It was a cute movie but the best thing about it was all the memories it brought up of our trip to Verona which is where the movie takes place. We were on a tour through Italy and we stopped in Verona for the day. We didn't stick with our group but decided to go off on our own to explore the city. It was probably one of our favorite days in Italy. The city is just beautiful. The weather that day was perfect - overcast and cool. Everything about the day was just wonderful!

Verona has a coliseum just like Rome. This one is in much better shape. In fact they still use it.

The architecture and house were just gorgeous. We just strolled the streets taking it all in.
There is a river that runs through the city that we walked along for a good part of the day.
We of course had to stop at Casa di Juliet! It was really neat. You could see the balcony that the scene is set. The house is in the middle of the city. I had always imagined it in the country but it was a city house.
We of course had to write on the wall of lovers!

It was just amazing! Everything we saw and experienced was great.

We finished our day eating at an outdoor cafe. You could actually see this cafe in the movie. The food was wonderful. Probably some of the best we had while we were in Italy.

Thanks for indulging me and allowing me to take a trip down memory lane. If you ever get to go to Italy you have to go to Verona!
