Disney Autograph Book

One of our favorite things about our trip to Disney was getting to meet all of the characters and getting their autographs. The kids just loved it! We got so many great pictures of them with the characters and all the autographs. I was trying to come up with a good way to preserve the memories so I decided to make an autograph book. I scanned in all of the signatures and put them into a photoshop file with the photos. I made it into a fun book for full of memories for the kids. I ordered a custom cover book from winkflash and it came today. I was so excited. I turned our perfect!!! Here are a few of my favorite pages. It was lots of fun to make and will be a great keepsake!

Spring Break 2012

Well, it is spring break week and we are not doing anything fun or crazy. No beach trips or other exciting things for us. This is how we are spending our week...We are in potty training boot camp! Oh so much fun. I think I would rather have my toenails pulled off than to potty train a child. If you have read this blog for very long you may remember how much trouble it was to potty train Ben. So needless to say I was not looking forward to potty training Kate. But I figured it couldn't be any worse.

Since the kids were out of school for the week I decided to arrange my work schedule so I only had to work 1 day late in the week (I love that I can do that) and hit the potty training hard. First thing Monday morning we hit the ground running. Kate was so excited to wear big girl panties. First day went pretty well. Some successes and some failures. Day 2 was really long but we ended with some big success. She is doing fairly well. She is still excited and really wants to do it but I am just not sure if she is physically ready yet. We are going to stick it out for the week and see if we can get it down though. If not we will try again in a few months (just shoot me though)!

This means we have not left the house in 2 days and all we do is go to the bathroom every 10 minutes. It is brutal! I think I might pull my hair out. But we are surviving! This might go down as the worst spring break ever!! So if you don't hear from me over the next few days it might be because I have totally lost my mind.

A Lazy Kind of Sunday Afternoon

We had the best kind of Sunday afternoon yesterday. We went to the park and met up with our friends the Johnsons. They are so wonderful and we love getting to hang out with them. The weather was perfect. The kids played and the adults chatted. We played some Tball and frisbee. We ate picnic dinners. It was just the perfect kind of evening! The kids just ran around and had a blast together!

One of the funniest moments was when Kate started chasing Isaac around asking him to hold her hand. He wanted nothing to do with her and it made her so sad. Her daddy offered to hold her hand and that made her so happy!
There was lots of swinging! Sweet Micah enjoyed pushing Kate.
Love my sweet friend Kim!These 2 crack us up! They fight like brother and sister and then become the best of friends. We stayed well after dark. Everyone was having fun and no one wanted to leave. What a fun evening. We can't wait to do it again soon!

Fun Times

We have already had a fun filled weekend and it is only Saturday afternoon. Matt has been out of town since early Wednesday. It has been a long 4 days without him. He rarely has to travel so it always seems long when he does go out of town. He is due back any minute so we are all excited to see him!

Last night the kids friends Evan and Addy came over for a night of fun. We ate pizza.
Then they watched Robin Hood. I loved having a house full of kiddos and fun laughter. It was a lot of fun!
This morning the kids and I got up and headed out early to Panera. After we ate we decided to hit some yard sales. We found some fun stuff including some tball equipment for Ben and a fun "princess" dress for Kate. Then we went to a park that we rarely get to go to since it is pretty far away. The kids had fun exploring a new park. I always love going to this park because it one I went to growing up. It is really close to the house I grew up in so it brings back great memories. The weather was beautiful and we had so much fun!
This slide is the only thing left from when I was a kid. I went down it many times myself!
This afternoon we have just been hanging out around the house. It has been great. Kate has been wearing her "princess" dress!Such a great start to the weekend. I am sure there will be more adventures once Matt gets home.

Packing Boxes for Soldiers

Ok I have to start with a picture of Kate. Her hair was super poofy today. I was laughing with friends at school saying she looked like a beauty pageant girl. Poor girl is going to have hair issues as she gets older. This was after nap so it was messy but you can see the poof!

Tonight we packed up the care packages for the soldiers. It was so much fun to go through all of the stuff that got brought to Ben's party and put it into packages. Grandaddy came over and helped us out.
Ben did a great job of dividing it out and making sure all of the boxes had similar stuff. Kate even got in on the fun. I love that Ben was so excited about sharing his birthday with others. We pray that the boxes are a blessing to the soldiers that receive them overseas! They do so much for us it is great to be able to do just a little bit for them.

First T Ball Practice (No Pictures)

Ok so I guess I should title this post Mommy Fail! That is totally what I did. We were all excited about Ben's first Tball practice and I knew it would make a great post for tonight. To post about Tball practice you need pictures and to get pictures you need a camera and/or a working phone. Since I had neither I guess it was not meant to be!

Today was just one of those days! It was a super busy day when everything had to be perfectly timed. It got off to a rough start when my phone froze up and wouldn't work. So I just had to wait for the battery to run out. That took 12 hours. I had to go all day without a phone. How did we used to survive without a phone at all times?

So I rushed home from work to get Ben to practice on time and totally forgot the camera! Oh well. He had a great first practice. He had lots of fun and we think it is going to be a great season. Don't worry I will post lots of pictures from the next practice!

Attic Project Complete

After some very long days of working we (well it was mostly Matt) finished up the attic project! So exciting!!!! It is wonderful to have the attic much more usable now. We also took the time to organize and clean out. There is so much more room as well. We can get lots more junk I guess.

Look at all that free space for stuff! The thing I am most excited about is my new area for wrapping paper, gift bags and boxes. Before it was just thrown into a giant pile and was such a mess. Now it is nicely organized and ready to go. We even got the playroom clean! This does not look like the same room from 24 hours ago. So clean!I know no one comes to the blog to see pictures of our attic so here are pictures of the cute kids. We are still loving the great weather and enjoying every minute that we can being outside. Today was a funny day because I had to work most of the day and Matt was off. It was a bit of a role reversal!
