Veteran's Day Program

Tuesday night the kids got to participate in their school's Veteran's Day program.  It is such a special night of songs and honoring those who serve our country.  They did an awesome job and we are proud of them!  It was exciting to have them both in the same program at the same school!

Operation Christmas Child

Sunday night we got together with the Johnsons (our little life group for the time being) to have the kids put together boxes.  It is always one of our favorite ways to kick off the holiday season.  All of the kids had fun putting together boxes with toiletries and toys.
They then each wrote a letter to the child that will be receiving their box.  Their letters were so sweet!
We finished up with a prayer time over the boxes.  Each child prayed from their heart for the kids that would be getting the boxes.  Nothing sweeter!  So excited for these boxes to be part of bringing the gospel to all the world!

Movies & A Puppy

We wrapped up a really fun weekend.  It was a relaxing weekend of only fun stuff which we all love!  Friday night was really special.  We checked out the new local pizza place before heading to see the new Peanuts movie.  My dad felt good enough to join us which was super exciting.  The movie was really great and we all had fun!
It was raining when we came out of the movie so Ben was super silly and put the popcorn bucket on his head.  Love him!
Saturday GG and Aunt Lisa came up for a visit.  Lisa brought her new puppy which was a huge hit with Kate and Perry.  It was great to get to visit with them.

Saturday night we went over to the Wright's house to watch the Auburn game with them and the Newbys.  It is always so much fun to get to be together with our lifelong friends.  Auburn finally pulled it all together for a big win against Texas A&M.  It was great!  Thankful for fun, low-key weekends.

Picture Dump

Thought I would do a quick catch up with the pictures that I had randomly on my phone.  I haven't been taking as many pictures lately.  I need to step up my game!  Love these sweet kids.  They looked so cute in their long sleeve shirts and shorts.  The weather has been so warm that we haven't gone full winter clothes yet.  Hopefully some cool weather will come soon.
We are so proud of how well this girl is doing in school.  She struggled the first few weeks of school just settling in but she has gotten in the groove and is doing awesome!!  We are seeing great progress in her work and she is focusing and getting her work done daily.  She is awesome!!  This homework cracked me up.  She had to write the favorite part of the story for the week and her favorite part was the title page?!?!  Funny girl!
Got this sweet pumpkin at one of my favorite shops (Sweet Pineapple).  It was the perfect addition to the fall decor this year.  I was late getting decorated but am really enjoying the fun little fall touches throughout the house.
My favorite part of each day is carline.  I know that is crazy but I love it because it means I get to see my loves!!  I can't wait to get them each day and see their smiling faces!
We are all adjusting to the time change.  I forget each year how dark it gets so early.  Ugh!  We improvised the other day and played a little with Evan and Addy in the dark.  Gotta burn off some energy!
Sweet Kate asked her daddy to read her a book before school this morning.  Love it!

Rainy Halloween

Saturday was a busy day of fun.  We started the morning with the Fall Festival at the kid's school.  It is always great to get to hang out with school friends and play silly games.  Ben looks forward to the ring toss each year to try to win 2 liter drinks.  He once again won a Mello Yello!
Kate and her friend Marietta really got into the stuffed animal walk and cake walk.
We came home with cupcakes and a new Beanie Boo!  And 2 excited kids.
Perry even joined in on the fun which was awesome.  How cute are these cousins?!?!
Late afternoon we had our traditional pre trick or treating dinner with the McClures.  I love these special traditions.  I hope it builds such great memories for all the kids.  We had taco soup and got ready to head out.
And guess what happened when we got ready to head out...  Yep, it started pouring down rain!!  I am not talking sprinkles I am talking tons of rain.  It was crazy.  We had umbrellas and ponchos and tried to make the best of it.  Kids loved it.  Thankfully no one lost an eye due to an umbrella but we had several close calls!  It was a crazy scene with lots of kids from the street going together but it was so much fun.  The dads even drove a car that looked a bit like a clown car with how many kids were packed in.  They did't seem to care!
We didn't make it as long as usual due to the rain but it was still so much fun.  We all came in and got warm and this girl fell fast asleep still with a little Halloween on her head!
Now on to November...

Halloween 2015

We had such a fun day on Saturday for Halloween.  I will share more about the day tomorrow but today is all about the costumes.  Ben decided a few weeks ago that he wanted to be Minecraft Steve.  Kate was a day of decision (she has so many dress up clothes that I told her she had to pick something she already had).  She chose Mulan.  They both looked so cute!  We manged to get a few pictures before it started pouring down rain.

Of course we had to get our traditional pictures with Evan and Addy.  I think we have gone trick or treating with them for 5 years or so.
The girls were being silly and changing up their accessories.
Ben and Evan coordinated their costumes this year and were both Minecraft characters.  These boys love their Minecraft!
