Tea With Granna

Yesterday Kate and I enjoyed a super special treat.  We were able to go over to Granna's house and enjoy a fun tea party with her.  My mom loves tea and sharing wonderful parties.  Everything was just lovely and super yummy!

Kate was excited to get all dressed up in her pretty dress.  She even wore her best jewelry and asked me to pull her hair up like a princess.  We had been reading fun books about tea all week so she was prepared with her best manners.  She had the sweetest smile on her face the whole time.  She loved all the fun foods.

What a special way to spend the morning with 2 of my favorite people in the world.  I love you mom and can't wait to have even more special times together like this.

Summer Tour Of Homes - Laundry Room

This is the last room in our house on the tour.  I might do a few other things over the next few weeks but this is pretty much it.  I guess it's good to end up with the room that gets lots of use but no one ever sees except for me.  I spend lots of time in here so I decided to make it fun.  I painted it a fun purple color.  I figured this is the one room in the house that is "mine" so I could paint it one of my favorite colors.
We are very lucky that our laundry room is nice and big.  There is lots of room for storage of cleaning products and extra stuff we need around the house.
I even have room to store my "party things" along with art supplies.
We have had our washer and dryer since we got married so they are the old school kind but work great so we will keep them.
I have added a few other fun touches to make the room more personal since I do spend some time in it.
I also have a great place to hang the ironing board (not that I ever use it) and all my mops.
I saw this super cute sign on Pinterest the other day and I do believe I am going to have to make one for my laundry room.

Sweet Kids

I love my sweet kiddos!  There are days they are a challenge but I wouldn't trade the opportunity to be their mom for anything.  It is hard to believe that school starts back one month from tomorrow.  The summer has been just wonderful and I am not sure I am ready for it to end.  I was talking to Ben the other day and I said, "I sure am going to miss you when you go to school everyday."  He was very serious and said, "I am going to miss you too mommy but you will be ok because you will still have Kate to play with."  Love that sweet boy!!
I also have to throw in a Kate funny.  A couple of weeks ago Matt was taking the kids to the pool and they got there but it started thundering so they closed the pool.  The kids were so sad that Matt took them to Taco Bell to make it up to them.  So yesterday afternoon it started storming.  Kate heard the thunder and said, "it's storming so we can go to Taco Bell right?"  Love how kids remember everything!
These amazing pictures were taken this spring by our awesome photographer Simplicity by Christy. I  borrowed them off her blog.  You can check out her awesome work by clicking on the link on the side of my page.

Hanging With The Fishes

We had a fantastic time in Atlanta!  Sunday we still had some more adventures before we headed home.  We ate breakfast at the Silver Skillet.  It is an old diner that looks just like it did in the 60's.  It was really neat to show the kids such a fun place to eat.
Then we headed over to the Georgia Aquarium.  We had never been there before and had heard great things about it.  We got there just as it was opening which was a great thing since the crowds got HUGE later in the morning and it was hard to get around.  The first couple of hours were great though.
We had a great time exploring all the different exhibits and checking out all the fish.
I think the beluga whales were everyone's favorite.
The kids loved hanging out with the penguins.
The volunteers and staff at the aquarium were amazing!  Everywhere we turned there was someone to show us what to do or give us tips.  As we walked in a volunteer told us a little secret.  He told us to go into one of the ballrooms because you could stand right up against the glass and see the beluga whales.  It was awesome because no one else was there and the whales would come right up to the glass if you put your hand on it.  The kids loved it!!

The kids also had fun running around and playing together!
The Georgia Aquarium has the largest tank in the world.  It is pretty amazing!

The kids love the episode of Diego where the rescue a whale shark.  There are 3 whale sharks at the aquarium.  They are HUGE!
One of the great volunteers asked to take a family picture of us.
We ended the tour by going to the Dolphin Tale show.  It was so cool!  They had dolphins that did amazing tricks that were all set to music.  We all sat mesmerized on the edges of our seats.

It was a great weekend!  So fun to just get to hang out as a family and do things we all enjoyed.  I love our sweet little family and feel so blessed.

Legoland

So our next adventure in Atlanta was a big one!  We had heard there was a new Legoland Discovery Center in town so that was one of our main reasons for heading to Atlanta.  Ben has become a Lego fanatic lately.  All he wants to do is play with Legos!  So we figured what better place to go.  We found a great deal online where we got discounted tickets for late afternoon.  It worked our perfectly because we stayed until closing and by the end there was no one there which was wonderful!

One of the neatest things they had was an entire scaled down Lego version of Atlanta. The kids loved seeing all of the neat things they did with Legos.
Everywhere you looked you could play with Legos!

They had 2 small rides which were really neat.  One was similar to Buzz Lightyear at Disney and one was a Dumbo type ride.  The kids loved it and we were able to ride them both several times.
They also had 3 different 4D movies.  We got to watch all 3 which was really neat.

They had some really neat elements all over made out of Legos and 2 really cool play areas for the kids.

Kate loved playing in the giant Lego pit!
They had an area where you could build a race car and test it out.

And a picture of me to prove that I really went!
More fun with Legos!
Ben loved seeing the mini Atlanta Falcon field and mini Braves stadium.

And what trip to Legoland is complete without buying some Legos to take home.  Ben brought some of his own money and got a new Star Wars Lego set!
We had a really fun evening and perfect for our Lego crazed boy!
