6 Year Check Up

Ben went for his 6 year check up today.  It could not have come at a better time.  We have had several issues come up in the last few weeks.  First the stats...  He weighed in at 51 pounds and 46.5 inches.  Both of those are 70th%ile (you know that is important for this RD mama!)  So growing great.  Dr. Patz said based on that height he should be around 5 foot 11 when he grows up.  We will see if that holds true.  Due to his allergies Ben had started on a nasal allergy medicine a couple of months ago.  The medicine can cause nosebleeds and that had started happening to Ben.  A couple of days this week he had really bad nose bleeds at school (like lots of blood).  We didn't know what we needed to do since the allergy medicine has really been helping.  Dr. Patz wants him to continue on the medicine which we are good with.  Hopefully the nose bleeds will stop.  Ben also has had several bumps come up on his arm and on his eye lids.  We figured they were viral but the ones on his eyes bothered us a little bit.  We had even scheduled an appointment with an eye surgeon.  Dr. Patz agreed that it was viral and they would go away.  He gave us a cream to use on them so hopefully that will help.  Other than that he gave Ben an A+!!  Always thankful for those great doctor reports!!
