Caribbean Cruise 2013 - Day 3

Ben started off day 3 with a little golf on the side of the ship.
Then it was off to our first day on shore.  After a day at sea we were ready for a new adventure in Costa Maya, Mexico.  It was the kids first time in Mexico which was exciting for them!
Costa Maya is a very small little town that is pretty much just about cruise ships.  There really wasn't much there and we had a hard time deciding what we were going to do when we were planning the cruise.  I found an amazing little beach on Trip Advisor.  It was a full service beach day!!!  It was a funky beach and we were super excited about our day!
We were greeted with cold drinks and fresh chips, guacamole and salsa.  It was amazing!!
Kate wasted no time digging in the sand.
We had our own private cabana area with chairs, a sofa and a hammock.  Paradise!!!!  Perfect for just relaxing an enjoying the day.

There were kayaks that we could use all day long.  Both Ben and Kate loved going out with Matt.  So much fun!

It was a very natural beach.  Not really pretty but still nice.  It is on a natural mangrove area so there is lots of sea weed.  It was also not the best of days.  It was very overcast all day.  And the winds were blowing at 20 mph.  The temperatures were in the 70's but the water was really warm at about 85 degrees.
It was great to be able to just relax and read books and enjoy the beach atmosphere.
They had amazing food and drinks all day long.  There were yummy Oreo shakes for the kids and nice drinks for the adults.  Lunch was a Mexican feast!!  Amazing steak and fish tacos that were grilled on the beach.  We all ate way to much!

Kate loved the hammock.  She let me hold her for about an hour and we just swung and talked.  It was wonderful!
We enjoyed hanging on the beach and building sand castles.

The kids favorite part of the day was getting in floats and just floating in the ocean.  They loved it!!

All the fun wore everyone out.  Ben fell asleep on the sofa and Kate slept in the hammock.  Perfect place for a nap!
It was then time to head back to the ship.  As you can see it was still really windy!

It was time for a yummy 4 course dinner!  The boys both wore their pink for dinner.

The kids headed off to Kids Club for the evening while Matt and I enjoyed a great comedy show by The Second City out of Chicago.  It was hilarious!!  Kate was the cutest little bear.
Ben loved the Dino towel animal!
It was a great first excursion.  So relaxing and we all enjoyed the beach.  We were ready for a another great day in Belize.
