Disney Day 6 - Hollywood Studios

Wednesday was a record breaking Disney day for the Eckleys.  It was spent at Hollywood Studios.  It was a day full of fun and lots of Disney magic.  We were there bright and early about 30 minutes before rope drop.
It was all about the mad dashes to start the day.  The kids and I ran over to get them signed up for Jedi training.  We had to wait in a 45 minute line (longest line of the week) and we weren't sure if they would make it into the show but they did thankfully.  Everyone else made a dash over to Rockin Roller Coaster.

We all met back up for a ride on Toy Story Mania (we had a 5 minute window where all our fast passes overlapped).  Of course Matt smoked us all but it was still lots of fun.
We stopped for a quick snack at Starring Roles.  It is one of my favorite places for a snack in Hollywood Studios.  They have the best baked goods!!  We got some festive holiday cupcakes.
Then it was time for a ride on Star Tours!
And we took in the Muppets 3D show.
Phineas and Ferb were right outside without much of a line so we got to meet them.
We had a lunch reservation at Hollywood & Vine.  Kate was so excited to meet all of her favorite Disney Junior characters.  We really enjoyed the buffet lunch.  It had some good options including a pasta bar.  The desserts were really good as well.  The characters were lots of fun - Doc McStuffins, Sofia, Handy Manny and Jake.  Kate was so cute dressed up as Sofia.

Kate and Perry enjoyed dancing and parading around the restaurant together.
After lunch we caught the the Indian Jones stunt show.  Ben loved the show.  He was on the edge of his seat the whole time with a giant smile.
Then it was time to ride the Tower of Terror.  Matt has always refused to ride as well as Ben.  Kate could not wait to ride it so Matt agreed to ride it with her.  The looks on their face tell you all you need to know.  It was not their thing!!!  They both said they will never again ride it.
I rode it with the second group and we all thought it was pretty fun!
We had a little Disney magic happen .  We were headed to see the Beauty and the Beast stage show.  As Kate was walking in, one of the cast members stopped her and asked her if she liked princesses since she was wearing a Princess Leia shirt.  She of course said yes.  He asked her if she would like to be the special princess for the show!  Of course she did!!

We got special reserved seats on the second row.  It was so cool!!
The show is awesome!  Like a Broadway musical.
At the end of the show, Kate got to go up to the front where Belle and the prince gave her a special rose and blew her kisses.  It was so cute.

She did an amazing job!  She was the star!!
We then headed over to Characterpalooza.  We got to meet Gapetto (such a rare character that we were excited to meet).
And the Queen from Snow White.  I love how Kate is holding her arms just like her.
Kate and Goofy were silly together.
And the whole crew got to meet Chip and Dale.
We then headed back over to the The Great Movie Ride where we took a whole group ride.
Love this sweet picture of Kate and Perry.  He was always excited when he got to ride in the double stroller.
We grabbed a quick bite to eat and then Ben and Kate headed to get ready for the Jedi training.  They got dressed in their Padawan cloaks and got their final instructions.

It is a really neat show where the kids are trained by a Jedi master in Jedi fighting.  They then have to use their skills to battle Darth Vader.

This picture of Kate cracks me up.  She looks so puzzled by the light saber.

Ben was up first fighting Darth Vader.  He did amazing!  He got all the moves right and did it with such gusto!
He also got to be the special Jedi trainee who got to use the force to fight off the storm troopers.
Kate was a little less sure of how to fight Darth Vader but she did great.  At one point the trainer told her to duck and she dropped all the way to the ground.  It was really cute.  She did awesome following directions!
Thankfully the group was able to defeat Darth Vader and no one joined the dark side!
They got special certificates saying they are now trained Jedis.
Funny story - Kate kept talking to a little boy up on stage.  We just figured she had made a friend.  Afterwards we were asking her about it, she said it was Logan who is in her class at school.  Totally random!!  What are the odds that she would be in the same group with a friend!
We finished up the day by seeing Fantasmic.  We got a fourth Fastpass for it.  It was a great way to get into the show.  We showed up 10 minutes before it started and got a great seat.  The stand by seating was already full so we were so thankful for the Fastpass (highly recommend getting it as a fourth option).  We loved the show.  It is so fun and a great way to see lots of characters.

Once the show finished up there was about 15 minutes before the park was set to close so we ran across the park to take one more ride on Star Tours!  So we stayed all day at Hollywood Studios - from rope drop until they kicked us out.  That is the first time that has ever happened where we stayed all day without leaving.  It was an awesome day!!  Hollywood Studios is a hard park if you ask me because there are so many shows that are only at certain times.  It can be hard to fit it all in but we managed to do everything.  It was one of my favorite days of the trip!
