Weekend in Review

Weekends are so much fun! They also wear me out! We packed so much into this weekend that I was left exhausted. Thankfully I have been able to get caught up on everything. Here is what we did...

Friday afternoon I had to work (why I scheduled myself to work on Friday afternoon I will never know). So Matt got to spend some time with the kiddos. They went to the downtown park an fed the fish.
Note Kate's big pieces of bread for the fish.

They had a great time!

The four of us then headed to Shogun for some fun Japanese food.

I had been wanting to take the kiddos to a Japanese place for a long time just to see what they would think of it. They both loved it. Kate ate up all the food and they both loved the show.

Saturday morning it was up bright and early for YARD SALES!!! It was our neighborhoods biannual yard sale. There are literally hundreds of sales and people sell the best stuff. Kelly and I went out for about 5 hours of shopping. We got lots of good clothes and a few other odds and ends. It is always so much fun and very interesting. While we were hitting the yard sale, Matt and the kiddos went to Ben's soccer practice. He has his first game this week which is very exciting.

Then it was home for the Auburn game. After last week's game we did have high hopes but it was awesome. I can't believe they pulled out another win!!! Ben absolutely loves football. He will sit and watch it for hours with Matt. He loved it on Saturday when he could watch 2 games at once on the computer and one on the TV. Football Heaven!!

We did lots of cheering and jumping! It was an exciting game as always.

Saturday night we went over to Kelly and Andrew's house to celebrate a very special birthday. Kelly's grandmother turned 75 last week and she wanted to have a birthday party with our family to celebrate. Kelly outdid herself as always!!! The theme was fall trees and leaves. The tables were just beautiful (sorry for the phone pictures - I am sure Kelly took some better pictures and will blog them soon. Check out The East Family on the blog links).

She did the most beautiful cake and cookies. It was all so much fun.

Kelly and Grandma Frances (we call her that as well). We are so glad to we got to celebrate such a special occasion with them.

Sunday morning it was off to church. I could not get a good picture of the kids.

After church, Ben and Matt headed up to Lincoln County Tennessee to the county fair. They met up with Mema and Opa for some fun. Ben had a blast. He loved the horse racing and seeing all the animals. He also loved the rides!!

Poor Kate she had to hang out with me and go to a meeting. Oh well.

As you can see we had such a great weekend!!
