3 Months Old!

I can't believe it is already time for another monthly "birthday" post. Our sweet baby Kate is 3 months old today. Matt and I were talking the other day about how everyday with Kate still seems so "new." We haven't really settled into a normal routine within our new family yet. It is a good feeling because it makes everyday exciting. Sometime soon I am sure we will settle into a routine and it will feel normal but for now we love the newness feeling! Here is what Miss Kate is up to at 3 months:

• You continue to be a super happy baby!! You smile and laugh all the time now. You have the cutest smile. Sometimes it is a 1/2 smile that is cute and coy. Other times it is a smile that lights up your whole face. Even your eyes smile. It is just beautiful!! You are a snuggler. You love to snuggle up in our arms. It is so sweet. You also love soft blankets. You grab them and pull them around you when you want to sleep.


• You weigh a little over 11 pounds. Just perfect! You are wearing 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. You can still wear a few newborn things but now getting to wear some of your cute bigger clothes!


• Everyday you get stronger. You can really hold your head up good these days. You are also getting good at grabbing things. You have started getting interested in toys, especially ones that make fun noises.


• You continue to nurse about every 3 hours during the day. You are an awesome eater. At night, you go 5-8 hours between feedings depending on the day.


• You have started sleeping in your big girl bed. Your sleeping is a little erratic at night. Some nights you do good and other nights not so good. But you are settling into a routine. On average you sleep 10 pm - 4 am most nights. You are also settling into a routine of sleeping during the day. You wake up around 7 am most mornings. Then go back down for a 1 hour nap around 8:45 or 9. You sleep for 1 1/2 hours or so. Then you are awake until around 1 pm. You take a good 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. Then late in the evening you take another 1 hour nap. It is nice to be on a schedule of some sort but of course it is always changing!


• Your favorite past time is watching Ben play! You have also become a mommy's girl. You will be crying and if mommy takes you then you calm down right away. It sure does make me feel good!


• You have had a fun last month doing fun things. Mainly just regular life sort of stuff but you do a great getting out and going. You have started going to church which you seem to enjoy.


• Everyone that sees you for the first time comments on yours hair. They all say "she has so much hair!" You haven't lost a bit of your hair. It continues to just grow. You might actually need a haircut soon to keep it from getting into your eyes.


• Your little personality continues to be very laid back. You are a go with the flow kind of gal - such a joy!
